    That's a jigging rod so the reel is just a line holder. No need to spend alot on the reel IMHO.

    Is it a rear seat pole. I have two and use Mr Crappie Solo reels on them. Works great for jigging.

    How deep is the water you fish ? 12 ft. or less I like b/m bb1 or Slater's small reel . Deeper I use Pflouger Presidents 6520 or 6525 . jmo.

    I have 3 SHSS rods and all have the President #6520's on them. Works for me.

    I use cheap ice fishing reels on all my jig poles. Perfect for what I need it to accomplish.

    I have 6 SH ss 10 ft rods all have Calcutta CT50 baitcaster reels. Got reels off of ebay $30 each and yes it's used basically to store line as I mostly tight line and pendulum swing cast trout magnets with a float.

    I ended up getting a Mr crappie solo reel cheap (as in free)from a buddy. I'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the replies.

    The Solo reel will do great, Keep it light. I have the same set up. Work perfectly.
