    Default Short but good bite.

My fishing partner, his son and I hit the water early today. We have fished this pond a couple other times together without much success but, my buddy went out without me during the spawn and figured it out a little better. His previous trip helped put on the fish early. Got into a school of hungry ones for a little over an hour and then the bite shut off. We fished around the pond some more for the rest of the morning but never got on the Crappie again. Didn't matter much as we had already caught enough for each of us to bring some home and had thrown back some smaller ones.

As a side note, my buddies son is a real trooper. He gets up at 3:30 am all the time to fish with us and never whines or anything. The kid is a real treat to take out and is going to make one great fisherman someday.
