    Default Crappie jigs?

Is there a crappie jig out there that holds a jig body and doesn't tear the crap out of it? I tried jigs with the little piece of bent wire running up the shank and thought that was the ticket. Turns out the wire hook rips the jig body.

I would suggest that you try Crappie Magnet Doublecross jigs.

You "might" look into plastic bodies that are "hard" ... soft plastics are gonna tear, eventually.

You might also want to consider using jigheads without collars ... though those won't hold the plastics on straight for very long. You "could" use the glue technique : wrapping the hook shank with dental floss & applying glue to it, then put your plastic body on. Or you could simply apply glue between the back of the jighead & the front of the plastic body. The downside of those techniques is that you have to remove/retie whenever you want to change bait colors/shapes, or use a tiny clip of some sort. There's also the use of heat (fire) to melt torn plastics back together.

Super glue works great but Loktite keeps longer in the tackle box and is easier to keep the tip clean.

    You got him there.

I have found that you'll get a lot of life out of Crappie Magnets and Bob's Jigs. Bobby Garland's tear easily and are probably designed to do so........so we'll buy more. I like them anyway though. GTT
