One issue I find to give me angst is dragging jigs in a tin boat on a windy day. Since you are looking to spider rig - shouldn’t be as much of a problem. Point is, windy days create a problem for tin boats with lots of line out. More than once I left my motor trimmed down and my lines ended up getting caught in the free wheeling prop. Then I learned to leave that motor in gear.

A few pictures that I had on my phone of my War Eagle set up for trolling. To spider rig I just rotate the top bar on the rod holder. It's pretty crowded but it works.

I think I’m gonna have to set my rod holders out the side on the drop deck like you do. Does your trolling motor get in the way of your rod holders when you turn them

I troll out of my 1751 Prodigy mud boat. It's my do all rig. From duck hunting, running rivers, to catching crappies. I am currently set up for 8 rods. Fixing to up grade to have 10 when I am fishing by myself or 14 when I have a buddy with me. Just upgraded my electronics to a Simrad GO7. With a Minn Kota on the front and remote sterring, this rig works good for me year round.Name: Screenshot_2018-05-25-14-48-39.jpg

You will have to rotate the rod holder in to raise and lower the trolling motor. Once it is out its not in the way, I had the shaft cut down so that sits down as much as possible and changing to an i pilot and getting rid of the cable helped as well.

Here's a picture of my boat with rod holders. I don't spider rig - yet. Mainly I long line troll jigs and crank baits.
