So sorry to hear about your accident. It happens to the best of us. Hope you get well soon.
I got to get out and do some fishing this past Friday morning. First fish was a 13 inch Crappie. Took my bucket down to get some water to put it in, and had to walk out on some rocks to get it. Well, after getting the water, I was about two steps from making it back to solid land and I slipped. I made it back but in the process I managed to pull/strain my Hamstrings. Kind of over extended my knee and landed hard on the last rock. FIRE shot through my leg and that was that. Back of leg is slightly swollen and extremely painful. Fun Part was trying to drive back home with the seat pressing on the back of my leg. Just have to see how long before I can walk good enough to get from the truck to the water. right now not able to walk unassisted, crutches, farther than 50 feet without sweating like a stuck pig bleeds...

That's a bum deal. Hope your recovery time is quick so you can aggravate some fish real soon. Just a thought; You might look into an old set of golf spikes or shoes that have some extra traction for when you go to places like that. I had a couple of places that I used to wear hiking shoes to for the same reason, and I had to be careful about them clogging and getting slick just the same.

Thank you all for the kind wishes...I've had time to think it over and believe I'm gonna tie me a rope on that bucket and throw it down to the water from where I fish at, about 10 feet up. I try to get as close to the spill way it's self, and about a third of the way up from the water to the road bridge over the spillway there is a platform with steps going up, and that's where I usually fish from, least wise till I get my boat going...still need to get the seats and transom wood put in. Then I will be spending time at Fellows Lake with a trip or two a month up to Stockton. Once again, thank you for the well wishes...
Thank you Ttexastom, I don't know how long this will take to heal as I've never had this happen before. Been using Ice, elevating it as much as I can stand to bein the bed, using crutches when I am up on it, and have them wrapped with ace bandages. The wraps help a lot as does the ice, but man, I wish I could get rid of those red hot pokers in the back of my legs...Thanks again.

thank you wannabe fisherman and shipahoy41 very much. prayers much needed for sure. Wannabe fisherman, no I was very fortunate in the fact of no broken bones, or strained ankles. just ham strings, and possible strained groin muscle on right side, I move just right or sit wrong and there's a sharp hot shot where there shouldn't be that's not on the other side at all. but all in all I'm doing ok. my sweet heart should be here tomorrow as she is at the oldest grandbabies Graduation. I'll rest better then, I'm sure. Thank you All again for prayers and well wishes.
