Just purchased my first brand new boat, and after many months of research and thought, I went with the Ranger RT198P with a Mercury 150 hp four stroke. This boat has the 3 across seating up front from the factory, and all the storage I could ask for.
I spent 4 hard days inside this boat on our yearly fishing trip. All I can say is wow about this boat. I absolutely love fishing out if it. The ride is just like a glass boat, they are tough as nails, and just a very good looking boat. I am glad I went with Ranger!

    Thumbs up

I purchased the 188C last August and have recently gotten it "just about" rigged how I want it. Awesome boat. Just be aware that the front deck config on the "C" model doesn't afford as much storage room as the regular RT does. (But I don't have to track to the back of the boat when the fish are thumping quickly.)

The 188 and 198 are apples and oranges...

Looked at all of the makes and models of Ranger and Triton and fell in love with the boat I just bought. 2018 Express Crappie Pro with the VMAX SHO 115.

My fishing partner just sold his 2017 198p 3 weeks ago. Pretty sure I still have it listed in the classified section. Great boat, pad ride is awesome once you get used to turning. We just decided to switch to glass. Enjoy!!Name: 20170704_172113_1506359488777-1328x747.jpg

I look very hard at one and the new 2018 express pro. I like the new express more after putting them side be side. Wider up front and could get add on I couldn't get on a ranger.

I have a 2017 Ranger RT188C. Love the boat. I wanted the lower deck and the front live well. I also wanted the long flat surface along the side for laying down my long spider rig poles. Only problem is lack of storage like others mentioned. I helped my storage space by making the area in front of the console in to a storage area. I'm not sure why Ranger didn't do that instead of screwing it down. Must have been because of the drain lines are running through it (at the bottom) from the front live well.

If I had to chose another boat, I would chose the Xpress. It has a better hull and is faster but not as stable while fishing as the Ranger. I wish they would put that Xpress hull on the RTs.

The difference in the 188 and 198 beside s the length is the "p" pad ride , same as the express. It is apples and oranges between 188c and 198p.
