    Default Sticky stinky scents

Hello all i am gearing up for another year of fishing excitement. Last year during the spring i got heavily into crappie fishing while i was fishing for sand bass. I switched all my bass tying equipment to fit the crappie diet and have learned milestones from this forum. So that leaves me with the question of which scent have you found to be the best?

I have numerous crappie nibble types that have worked on hard days. But i want a little more if possible

in my bass fishing days i used to use spray scents which worked but never stayed on long.

The pro cure super gel looks enticing but it says keep it at 70 degrees an considering i live in tx thats not a option

any other gel or sticky scent that would stand up to being mashed into tied jigs/ect. On a 100 degree day?

Also would crappie like garlic? I just cant see garlic as a crappie go to or any fish for that matter but thats just me.

What should i add to my arsenal/ adult lego kit

Slab sauce from Crappie.com. Some spritz it on, some pour it into a shallow jar and dip their lure. Check out multiple testimonies on this site. Works for me.

Slab sauce is the overwhelming favorite here. I don't like to spray it, wastes too much, put the nozzle right up to the jig and smear it on.

Although I saw Richard Gene use the Power bait scent in a video last week.

Hmm sounds like slab sauce might just work haha well consider that ordered. I have read so many post mentioning slab sauce im surprised its not sold in my local walmart.

how well does it last? Im gonna get a few different types. Just looked at the kvd fish sticks, they seem ok. Was reading that the liquid mayhem stains baits red which is a bummer cause it looked neat.

What about that mo glo slab jam stuff? It looks fairly sticky maybe a gel paired with slab sauce will be enough to keep my sunscreen/cigarette smoke stained hands from tainting my jigs.

main reason im interested so much is i had a guy with his kids come spank me in the same boat slip only difference was he had crappie nibbles. Which i soon loaded up on haha

I use Pro Cure Minnow or Pro Cure Shad or Pro Cure Panfish. All have thick paste to stay om longer. The 70 degrees is not specific. I use my saltwater Pro Cure in 100 heat and have no problems. It will be more "liquid" if the bottle itself reached 90 degrees but that wont happen. If you pick up a bottle that is 90 degrees it will feel hot in your hands for more than 10 secs from heat within. Trust me, it will not get too hot to use.
I have great luck with the Pro Cure line.
Of course Slab Sauce works well for me also but I have my interest in Pro Cure right now.

Thank you slab slider just what I was wondering. I like how pro cure has all ground up baitfish in it (or so they claim).

its just fun getting excited about ordering fishing gear haha.

the question I would offer up as an answer would be this ...you want to smell like an Italian dinner or a ground up fish ....?
that said slab sauce has little to know odor to me and works quite well ....
and then there is always lure flavor and you end up smelling like bubble gum ,but it also works
I have nothing against the stinky stuff either
and to be sure crappie nibbles and some of the garlic scent liquids are good stuff as well
never tried the pro cure but I imagine its like the rest or it wouldn't sell .
sometimes what works in one spot don't in the next as well ....that's a for sure
