I think kosmo is the only one here that uses Rhodan ...

I'm considering purchasing a Rhodan trolling motor and have concerns not having a foot controlled pedal and just using the fob for controlling the boat along a stretch of shore/weed beds or through stumps/trees. All my fishing is fresh water lakes.
What is your experiences with this type of usage with just a fob and no foot pedal?
The plus along with the gps is the shaft will not spin more than 360 degrees damaging your cables along the shaft.
I'm accustomed to the foot pedal and realize a learning period would be needed for using just the fob.
Just looking for experiences/recommendations from current/prior Rhodan owners.
Thank you for you time.

I did send him a pm not sure if he received it. I will post to the electronics forum.
I have researched both the CDC forums and also the hull truth forums regarding the Rhodan trolling motor as well as a general web search and have not read anything related to no longer using a foot pedal and only using the fob. Most all of the Florida owners that posted comments appear to use their Rhodan for offshore spot lock situations rather than beating the bank type fishing.
I haven't used my foot petal since I got my Terrova 3 years ago. I have it in a compartment in case my remote goes bad.

I have an older Motorguide witht the small key fob remote and like it. I also have the remote foot pedal, but prefer the key fob.
I have had a Terrova, and now an Ultrex. I have used the foot pedal once, to see if it worked.
The remote is all I use.

I had a powerdrive and now a terrova. Would never think of using a foot pedal again. Takes a minute to get the hang of it from driving with your foot, but one of the best things I've put on my boat in a long time. Especially if you like troll.
