Default I have a New Neighbor

He has not even built his house as of yet, but has it laid out. Yesterday I was fishing next to his dock, which I didn't even need to start my big motor, just troll motored over there and started catching some big male crappie. He came up in his boat and ask if I was catching any. I told him yes and doing really well on my jigs. He ask what I was using color wise and then right in front of him I caught a couple. He ask, hey do you have any of those with you that you don't want, LOL? Told him no, but I could spare a couple for him to try.

He told me he had not done any good, but had been using bigger jigs than what i gave him.

Then he tied one on and started to cast on the other side of his dock and started catching them big old crappie too. Was not but a few minutes he said hey, I want you to make me 30 of these, when can I get them, LOL? Told him to come by this morning and I would have them ready.

Anyway to end this story, I got 8 nice slabs in about 20 minutes and left him with about 10-12 after 30 minutes. Told me " you have showed me something here and now we are best friends", LOL! Funny guy there and think I will like my new neighbor. I don't know how many he ended up with as I left him there still fishing.

I didn't fish long as I am still sore from falling on my tail in my boat the other day. Just hit the edge of my chair and it turned and I went on one of the slow motion type falls right into the bottom of my boat. It was one of those times I looked around to see if anyone was watching, LOL!

I just thought this was a kind of funny story I would share here.

Consider yourself lucky to have a nice neighbor tha likes to fish. That conversation could have gone the other way with you fishing around his dock.

Just let me know when you are coming. I am about to trade in my 1 year old boat to get one a tiny bit bigger (width wise) with a little bit bigger motor too. It was a mistake to buy that boat for me and my wife. She does not like the fact it's a bit narrow so it rocks some when walking around.

Still going to stay with a G3 I think.

It was great! He came by this morning to pick up the 30 jigs I tied last night for him and then he went to the same boat place I was at and there it a tackle shop there next door so he went and picked up some of the name horse head jig heads and gave them to me to tie up for him. I can do that if someone buy their own heads and send them to me I tie them up for them.

It's a shame they will not let me buy their heads and tie them to sell, but they are positive about that and will take people to court for that. I called them the other day and was told if I am not picturing their product on my site and calling them by name, I can tie a customers heads and just charge them for my labor and materials.

I am doing great GRIZZ, thanks!

My son is doing great also, but that left foot thing is still a problem. I just hope they can find out what is causing it and get it fixed, because I know first hand what nerve damage does as that has been my trouble since 1989 and why I can work. When the removed my disc and fused my back they had too much bone in one side and almost cut my sciatic nerve in half, with the key there being almost, but still permanent damage to it. Heck if I could stand it I would go back to guiding, but my physical body would never stand for that.

That is the text book way to handle fishing someones pier. Offer them a couple baits that are working and give them some fish you caught off their doc. Everyone should take that aproach and there would be a cut down on problems. But then again, There are some that think their property line extends far out into the lake. CF
