Anybody else notice this thread is over 3 years old.
    But since its been revived.
I'm still going with 100% carpet. Rubber backed marine grade carpet. I clean mine every year and it looks brand new. The grandkids run around barefoot and swim off my boat in the summer. We eat lunches in it, spill all sorts of live bait and grind it in etc. Yet, it still looks great. When I rebuilt the boat a number of years ago I used outdoor marine grade carpet from Mendards.
I too tournament fish in my boat, in fact my first tournament is next weekend. Morning temps of mid 30's. I don't worry about slipping on carpet. To each his own, but I'm sticking with carpet.

Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!

So I can only speak for what I have personally sprayed over pressure treated wood, we have used a Kilz Exterior primer , it can be water based or solvent, let it totally dry then we used the 2 component Linerxtreeme. I have boats that we did out there for 7 -8 years looking great. Not sure why folks think it gets hot, use a light color like Tan, Light Gray or even White. We did a patio off a pool in Dark Brown and its completely non slip and not hot on the feet at all. I'm curious what the other fellow stated was " High Maintenance" with the Line- X??? That is a Poly Urea , Should just have to use a little soap and pressure wash clean at a car wash.
My carpet days ended when I was cleaning out an old bass boat and I tossed one of the carpeted lids, a hook stuck in the carpet went way deep into my finger with all the weight of the wooden lid setting it good and tight, OUCH!!!!

I keep my 22' bow rider boat on a covered lift and I keep both cockpit and bow covered when not in use. Even with that measure of care, vinyl gets grungy with heat/humidity related mildew. I have applied this cleaner/polish about every three months and that keeps the vinyl looking and feeling as good as when the boat was purchased in 2011. Starbrite makes great boat cleaning products.

Had one War Eagle with vinyl and liked it a lot . Wash out with a pressure washer and much cooler during the heat . I did not fish much in the winter back then so no help about slick spots .

Good googley moogley. This thread will be 3 years old in 4 days. LOL

That was 2 boats and 2.3 million crappie dollars ago.

I'll be selling the boat that started this thread within the next month when I get it cleaned out and cleaned up. The new ride has factory applied spray in bedliner in it. Carpet has it's pluses for sure, but I'm too big of a slob to own a boat with it in it.

The only plus I’ve found with carpet in a boat is to cover boat manufacture blemishes I hope I never own one with carpet in it again it looks nice while it’s clean but one without it is a lot easier to clean but that’s my opinion.
