I only use mono with floats and that's not very often, I mainly cast and jig or vertical jig and love nanofil or gliss for that, I also use the heavier nanofil for sauger fishing. Never had any issues with it.

IMO there is two things that causes twist. Putting the line on the reel incorrectly and secondly fishing a certain jig head/body combo that will incur twist as it is retrieved at a fast rate. I have found that mono and frequent line changes makes all the difference. I use viscous high vis mono which has a Great price and I don"t feel bad ditching line that hasn't been on my reel for just a couple of weeks. This is all relative, If I don't fish that week then obviously it doesn't need changed. I bought a line winder from Berkley that is a reel cheesy deal but it works. It Works good!!! I have absolutely NO line twist when it's put on. I have fought line twist my whole life and believe me I get it. It can make ya just about go crazy at times!!!!
Here is the line winder

Memory is the issue from what I thought I understood originally and i have yet to see a brand of mono that has no memory , that said I probably do things all wrong and just stretch my line I am using on each outing to take out the memory so typically found in various mono lines after they have been on a reel a little bit .....I haven’t seen a way yet to reduce it no matter how you spool it up , but then again I just don’t let it get to me ....it gets worse the heavier the line best I can tell as well ..
