You dont need a vaccum use zip lock bags close them most of the way and suck out most of the air close the rest of the way. They are reuseable that way be sure to keep them out of the sunlight or they will get brittle. my crappie bag has a holder on each end one holds needle nose and the other has side cutters. when you get a treble in you, you dont want to fight bags or packages to get out the items. ps you may want to include a set of split ring plyers. I fished a whole day with a cut off hook in my thumb. another way is to tahe a piece of 20lb test hold shank of the hook to where the hook is located slip the line between the hook and shank count to three and on 2 jerk both ends of the line hook will follow the angle back out. if you count all the way to 3 you will follow the jerk and have to start over Don't Ask Me how I know.

Appreciate it Cray. Daughter gave me a nice pair of titanium pliers that will cut most hooks with one hand but I will have a sealed up first aid kit in my boat from now on..

Marky, do yourself a favor. Get a potato and bury a treble hook in it and see if you can get yor pliers in there to cut it out. That was the problem I had with cutting out the one in that gentelmans thumb. Couldn't get between thumb and hook bend to cut it off. Had to trim off the other barbs to get down to one holding him. Now if you got those salt style pliers with cutter on outside those are the way to go.

good idea.. im in the medical field so I have lidocaine and a small scalpel in the boat for such instances. Much cheaper than a trip to the ER!

Unfortunately, I've never had a treble in a finger or other part of my body where I was able to cut the barb off. I've always had to do the "Grit and pull" method.
