From Wikipedia: A lagniappe (/ˈlænjæp/ lan-yap) is "a small gift given a customer by a merchant at the time of a purchase" (such as a 13th doughnut on purchase of a dozen), or more broadly, "something given or obtained gratuitously or by way of good measure."[1]
The word entered English from the Louisiana French adapting a Quechua word brought in to New Orleans by the Spanish Creoles.

Well, my daddy called it "boot" and either gave or received when a transaction was completed. That term seems to be dwindling, maybe a south thing.

Call it what you want, it's a way I can give back to you all, and it makes up for the shipping costs a little.

I like my camo hat and the western hat with the c.com logo. One is for summer or hot and sunny days fishing fishing. One is for fall and cooler days fishing. Now if I could just go fishing. These are MY best hats ever. I am Shipahoy 41 and I approve this message. Thank you Ed. I am glad I ordered it. Just awesome!!!

Living in MS, and being from LA and using terms like sac a lait and lagniappe, gets me some strange looks occasionally. I get just the opposite when I fish in LA, and folks see that MS registration on the side of the boat... LOL!!! But, thank goodness the love of fishing transcends the geopolitical issues, and I can usually maneuver past any complications... The hat should be a sign to all that we share this common bond, except of course with the bass fisherman!
