    Default Onboard charger issue

Got a 2 bank 10 amp xps made by pro mariner from bass pro a couple months ago. Got it all wired in and plugged it up, all is well. Sat in my shop plugged in for a month and all lights on the charger were good, ready to fish.

Fished half a day or so last Sunday and all points were nice and charged. Trolled strong, cranked strong, all good.

Plugged it back up that night. Couple days later I notice the rotten egg smell in my shop. Open the hatch up and my cranking battery, the top of it is peeled open, acid everywhere, big mess. Battery exploded. What gives? Did I do something out of the normal? Anyone saw or heard of anything like this before?

Battery is a 2011 model if that helps with your opinion. I've left a message with pro Mariners customer service. Waiting on a call back. Thanks for any advice

99.9% chance your battery caused it. Loose plate or cable creates a spark and ignites the hydrogen gas produced by charging.

I've never expected one to last 6 years. I change them out every 3 to 4 years.
    Tell'em I'll be there.
