Doesn't make any difference on the strip lights as long as you have operable navigation lights when under power and a white anchor light when stopped.

Having such lights on while navigating could cause a problem with the officials.

I would not use them for navigational just for attracting fish and wasn't sure if night fisherman put lights out on both swides or just one.. I suppose it dosent matter but seems tome more the better

Not always more the better, sometimes you need less light and I would put them on two switches that way you could use one side or the other. Some times you are over a brush pile you only need one light.

That's what I'm doing; a separate switch for each set of lights.
