Anybody using the Carolina flipping stick by the crappie pole?

Im interested in the 7'6"model. I'd like to hear your thoughts on it before I buy it. they say it's stiff and sensitive.

That would be the Grizzly Jig rod formerly known as the "Crappie Stick" ... IM7 blank. Website says it's currently out of stock, but their eBay store has them up for bid in a 3pk.

I don't have one, and never held one ... so I don't know much about the power or action of the rod. I'd contact the folks at Grizzly Jig and ask them for more information about the rod (like what action the tip is, what kind of guides are on it & are they micro-guides). If it's a 7'6" version of their 10-12' "Crappie Pole" (with cork handle instead of foam handle), then the guides may be the same ceramic insert style single foot spinning guides.

IMHO -
Micro guides make for good casting rods, but slip float use can be tough. A fast or very fast action tip makes for longer casts & greater sensitivity when used as a "in hand" casting rod. Good quality ceramic guides will handle braid without the annoying "buzz" that metal guides produce.

The only thing I have that's even close to this rod, is a 7' Bionic Blade (IM7 Med power/action) and I use it exclusively with PowerPro 10/2 hi-viz braid. I mostly cast Roadrunners & Whirly Bees with it, tied directly to the braid, and a "hookset" is a simple sweep of the rod while I continue to reel in. When using it to cast & swim a jig ... I usually have a 1/8oz splitshot sinker on the line, about 8-10" above the jig. Even the slightest tap transmits a serious "thump" through the rod to my hand (thanks to the braid & sinker). But, without the splitshot, the light taps aren't near as noticeable ... so I resort to line watching, much like I do with my casting rods with hi-viz mono.

Yea I saw them on their ebay store and It intrigued me.
I own the 7'6" bnm crappie wizard and really enjoyed the 7 foot 6 rod for the vertical jigging I've been doing latley. Ill have to call grizzly and see if they can compare it to the wizard.
