    Default Palomino Trout

Okay - so I know it's not a crappie - but figured you guys would enjoy seeing this.

I went up to Beaver Dam State Park to kill a couple hours and see if I could remember how to catch trout.. Third fish of the morning was this cool looking Palomino. Some call them Goldens, but a true golden comes from select high mountain lakes in CA. (I know, cause a buddy use to hike out there every year to catch those little 8" monsters) haha

Anyway - I"ve never even SEEN one, let alone catch one - so it's getting mounted (probably a graphite replica)

That's neat we have a few rivers around here that get stocked for a trout rodeo and the hatchery that stocks them breeds those golden trout... They put 5 to 10 in each time... They are really finicky fish to catch and most of the ones I see result in me catching rainbows laying with them rather than catching them... That's a pretty one for sure! Congrats!

don't know where that state park is you managed it in ...
but they put a few in with the regular rainbows when they stock the local ponds and rivers here in Texas this time of year as well .
sure are pretty .....tried to get a really large one to take my offering last year a thousand times and it wasn't playing the ketchn game at all .....
that sure is a pretty fish ...CONGRATS
