This has some very interesting applications for other purposes too. As I stay in campsites with no power.

I want to know how smart you really are Cane Pole. I'm pretty sharp but can't hold a candle to you. Some of the things you post on here are amazing!
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!

I just ordered one to use on my Minno mizer, it uses 6 volts of all things. I got a stepdown converter but it is flimsy the way it is made. This one will work much better.
Thanks CP

Great adaptation. Thanks for sharing.
Got the parts in 3 days, while putting in bubbler noticed that the two batteries are in series so adjusted the output to 3 volts and it's now running on a cooler full of minnows, no more switching to 110 ac pump overnight and a use for backup battery. Thanks cp for the info and Flycaster for the adjustment hole.--shu

Well, I ordered one of the voltage regulators like CP used to use with my 6 volt Mino Mizer. I had a device I got from Mino Mizer to drop the voltage but it was cumbersome and prone to coming disconnected. It really was intended for a temp setup. In my case, and many more today, we have 12 volt outlets on the boat and it is the easiest way to power an aerator.
This is what the Mino reducer looks like. It uses an alligator clip to hook up to aerator, and that is the weak point in the setup.
I put the step down circuit in some 1.5" PVC that I had on hand, and cut a piece from a swim noodle to fit in the PVC and snug up the circuit so it does not bang around in the pipe. I drilled holes in each end cap for the wires in and out, screwed the connections down and put the other end cap on. Now all I have to do is plug in and I am ready, and I sometimes put the bucket it my car and run the aerator off the car voltage. (I had adjusted the voltage down to the 6 volt output before I put the circuit in the PVC.)
I also tied a knot in the wire inside the PVC on each side ahead of the outlet hole so it would not pull the connection loose if the wire gets pulled for some reason.

Very nice Ray.

Great! Like I said, it is easy to build and very functional. I use to tell my high school students that they are only limited by their own imagination.
