    Back when I bass fished a lot years ago. I would go to the drugstore it was also a ice cream and soda shop back then and buy essence of anise oil and when they were harder to catch I would apply some to my bass worms, it helped. Catfish also love the anise (licorice) flavor. But I have real never tried used it for crappie has anyone else?
