One big advantage I see with this kind of unit, over a flasher, is there's no "history" on a flasher. Once the flasher "shows" you what's going on at that very second, it's done/gone, and if you weren't watching the screen ... you missed it. The LCD units can be "reversed" to show the history of what was showing on the screen the past few moments.
