how do you get paint off of boat, comments

I need to get the layers of paint off a jon boat I picked up today any idea's it's thick

Went through it a y ago Got it at sherwin williams about 30b a gallon...I felt like I had tried it all then I stumbled on this and it works.Put it on out of direct sun let it sit and with a scraper Putty knife..it just peels off....http://www.jamestowndistributors.com...+Paint+Remover

and Multi Tool with the sanding triangular pad frm sears did the rest....Its small but it fits in tight spots and gotter done

Try airplane stripper. You can buy it at a local auto parts store. Used this on a flat bottom I had a few years ago. It comes in a aerosol can. Works pretty good. Spray it on let it sits until it starts to bubble then scrape it off.

I'm Spoiled, Soda blast is without a doubt the fast and easy solution. mild abrasive, cuts paint, no aluminum damage and no heat. I also saw a show on Discovery where they were using water blasting to repaint airplanes. they demo'ed stripping paint off of an empty soda can. paint was rapidly removed and can undamaged,
Check around for a metal prep company in your area and probably someone does soda blasting. Most are reasonably priced.

never heard of soda blasting?? I tryed a torch but the paint didn't bubble

Naval Jelly works, but it's probably cost prohibitive.

Look for someone who blasts with walnut shells. Metal stretches somewhat if using soda or sand. Also you could rent a pot blaster and purchase a couple bags of plastic blast media.
