    Default Enjoying the Water Together

Let me be the first to say I do not own the water just as you do not own it. That being said here is my biggest pet peve and I would like to hear what other think of my cure. The one thing I absolutely hate it to be fishing along the shoreline and to have people on jet skis come flying by rocking you to the point that you have to hold on to keep from being thrown from your boat. Just as uncaring boat operators some do this on purpose. Setting there you know good and well that the driver of the jet ski could see you. I did not say that they should not be on the water there is a whole lake they could play in. My solution is that all PWC have to operate at an idle within 200 ft of any shoreline regardless of the size of the body of water. If you are one of the ones that own a PWC and come with this range you can be mad if you want to. I don't care. Save your time gripping at me. Your just wasting space on here and wasting your time. But hey its your time waste it if you want to.

I don't even bother fishing in the summer because of all the recreational people out. It's bad enough with all KVD wanna be's flying around the lake, add in jet skis, skiers etc.. And just not worth it.

That's why we call pwc's lake lice. They are quite the irritant.

Or if you do fish in the summer you have to get out early. The skiers usually start getting out around 10am or so. I usually fish till 10:30am in the summer. Or I will catfish at night.

the lake I fish has a lot of idol bays so that is where I usually fish in the summer. the jet skis don't bother me that much, its those fifty foot yaghts that suck.

Michigan has just such a law, at least regarding a Great Lake shoreline.

It is also illegal to harass fishers and hunters here. The definition of harass includes actions intentioned to drive off fish or game.

I had not thought of them like that but I guess they would be sort of like what we called lot lizards back when I drove a truck.

Because of the jet skis and KVD wannabes, I usually only fish during the week, except during the colder months. One advantage to shift work is the time off during the week that lets me avoid the weekend warriors.

My self and most other people don't have an options to pick when we go fishing we just go when we have the time to go which is mostly on the weekend. That being said the folks with pleasure boats, other fishermen and PWC don't have much of an option either so most of them are out during the weekends also.

Over the years I have learned to not let conditions I have no control over ruin my time off and especially my time fishing. In a way I kind of like some of those annoyances out on the water. It keeps some people at home and I have less completion for some fishing spots.

maybe its just me, but it always seems like they aim for you when your out there fishing. there is a point i like to fish that's 1ft or less on the top of it and goes out about fifty yards from the bank. from there to the other bank is 200yards. you wouldn't believe how many pleasure boaters will pick that fifty yards between me and the bank and run aground on that point.
