    Default Crappie Condo's

Thinking about sinking some Crappie Condos this winter. In you opinions what are the best material to make them from, where would you put them(close to creek mouths, on flats near deep water, etc.?). Is making a pvc pipe tree worth the effort? Just looking for some expert opinions on this matter. Thanks ahead of time.

take bow saw or battery recptial saw to lake with some old chain and a few cinder blocks, find a bend over tree (hardwoods) cut your lenth, drag out into lake with some rope and chain a block to the tree top and let it sink, go back over it and make it with GPS. no one will see you hauling brush pile to lake and follow you and fish your hard work. mouths of creeks or creek channel bends, ditches along a flat, secondary points

I don't recommend doing that, unless it's legal to do so. Check your state regs before arbitrarily cutting on any tree around a lake !! Also, make sure it's legal to sink the type of cover you decide to use, and follow the regulations concerning what & where you place it.

Very good point CP, the corp of Engineers if they catch you will heavly fine and you may even have to replace trees cut on COE lakes escpecially anything within there red zones.

Get those pretty ones around the corps headquarters. They probably won't mind.

Bamboo works pretty well and noone really cares about cutting it normally since its not really native.
