Sad deal but when you keep playing with fire you'll eventially get burned.

I understand it was a freak accident.

The stingrays tail punctured his chest and the tip of it poked a hole in his heart.

He was a pretty wild guy.

    RIP.

I never understood his "antics" with deadly animals (saw him stick his hand into a nest of rattle snakes in Arizona one time!) but I greatly admired his awesome passion for "life it's ownself". I know lots of us wish we had jobs we loved as much as he loved his. I along with millions of others will miss his show. Prayers to his wife and kids.

Everyone has their own thing. His was just a little farther out there than most. I understand that it's the 17th time that someone has been killed by a stingray on record.

I think I heard CNN reporting today that he was trying to ride on the back of the stingray. I don't think it's true, the rumor mill starts very quickly with the media. I also heard that the fatality was on tape, not to be morbid, but I think I would like to see exactly what happened to him with my own eyes to dispell the rumors.

His wife said she is going to release the tape.

She said he always wanted it to be released if something would happen to him.

I read today where they have changed their minds on making the tape public.
