Hey Josh, what you got there is a fish that always stays in root balls. They grow compact like that so they can maneuver in the tight areas to ambush their pray. I learned this from a biologist when I fount the same build on the fish I was catching on Grand Lake/ St Mary's, OH. The main structure they have on that lake, is to bury themselves in the roots of under cut banks. Here on the Mississippi River, we get similar built fish too. It has been said that those fish built like that here, spend most of their time fighting the current. Hope to meet up with you and Chippy on Reelfoot 4/20 -4/27! Big bites, full baskets, and God's blessings to ya!
