I have run mine for 2 years now. Heavy gusty winds are the hardest for the spot lock to maintain position, you will be all over the place. My boat is 18.6 feet with gusty winds by the time the 80 Terrova ramps up it takes some time for it to come back and if the gust dies then it over shoots and tries to bring me back. Steady wind and current or calm its pretty darn good. As mentioned above all the other great benefits I would not be with out it now. This is coming from a cable drive die hard I changed over kicking and screaming but glad I did.

I have the 101 lb i-Pilot Terrova and I love it! Mine keeps us with 5 foot radius. In 3 years it may have let loose 2-3 times. So it holds 99.9%

The only thing you have to make sure of is that the lights are off when you pull it up! This ensures it is locked.

I have had one for long time, on a tin boat, works great, I dip trees, bridge piers, two pole slow troll, and it all works great, use the anchor a lot, worth the money, and then some

I'm going to put it like this. There have been a lot of new stuff come along in my liketime, cruise control, computers, i-pads, cell phones and such, but it should be a law if a child is born and you have any intentions of he or she ever fishing, go ahead and buy them an I-pilot. enough said!!!!!

I've hearing some good things about the I-Pilot and agree with most of the benefits given. I was told, you need to be careful during windy days as it can throw you out of the boat if it needs to adjust for a sudden gust. Any truth to this?

I havent used it much with the anchor part but do know if you record a track and then go back and want to run that track again you better be ready when you hit GO, 101 pounds of thrust to the start of the tack, full speed ahead.

I've had mine for a couple of years and really do like it, but the anchor feature wanders too much for my liking that feature. I'd say it keeps me within 7 or 8 feet of where I set it at.

I only fish on days of the week that end with
a "Y" ...and then, only if it's raining or not.

I've had mine (Terrova, 36V, 101 lb. thrust) for two years now and I can guarantee it WILL NOT keep you in a ten foot radius or a 20 foot radius. It has to get "X" amount of distance away from anchor position before it will recognize it's off position and then it will correct and usually coast (overrun) past original position. But it has so many other features, it's like having a partner in your boat, like Rees Guide said. Wouldn't want to use any other now.

I know there are some deals out there on old inventory. Is the newer version a BIG improvement that would justify the extra cost?
Hope to buy one next week.
