    Default More Grenada Slabs

Well after months I finally got my pictures developed of some Grenada slabs I caught this past spring. I had caught 2 crappie over 3 pounds pre-fishing for a club tournament on Friday. Well I caught these beauties the day after the tournament. Seems that was the story of my year. I didn't get a good picture of all the fish but you can see some of them on the tailgate of the truck. Look how wide their backs are. You have got to love Grenada lake in the spring time. We fished the exact same places I had caught the two big fish and where I fished the day of the tournament. We weighed in 18 pounds with our ten best on tournament day but it took 24 pounds to win. Well as you can figure our ten best the day after the tournament weighed 25 pounds even! We had 51 SLABS and threw back many more nice fish. The fish in my right hand was a male that weighed 2.95 pounds and the fish in the left hand was a female that weighed 3 pounds 4 ounces. I had the 3 fish over 3 pounds mounted.

I'll be fishing it every weekend in the month of September getting ready for the Crappie Master's Classic! Although you can't beat it in the spring time. I'm considering getting into guiding a little to offset some expenses from tournaments and just fishing in general. I have logged over 60 trips already this year all over Mississippi. There aren't many guys my age (34) that put that kind of time and effort into crappie fishing. My home lake is Ross Barnett but Grenada isn't out of the question. My in-laws live out by the lake so I'm there allot. If any of you guys are planning a trip to Grenada we may be able to work out something.
