Default baits to use in winter, ( cold water favorites) for crappie

I generally use small ( 1/32- 1/64 ) hair jigs with weighted bobbers, but have heard some do well on plastics. I just would like to broaden my selection of weapons to see when the bite stops or slows where I fish if something different might help. I make my own jigs and of course I have favorite colors but even they don't work 100% of the time so I'm asking the experts.

I'm no expert, but I love fishing tiny marabou jigs under a bobber in water temps <45 degrees. However, I've had a great deal of success with plain, straight tailed plastics, retrieved slowly along the bottom. Bobby's baby shads are a great example. Very effective this time of the year.

Small Rapala jigging raps and jigging shadraps usually nail the big slabs for me in cold water!!!

I USE THE SAME JIGS ALL YEAR, MAYBE HEAVIER ONES WHEN i FISH 40' OF WATER DURNING THE EXTREME COLD MONTHS. PLASTICS WORK FINE BUT SOME TIMES HAND TIES LIKE MEATGETTERS SINK EASIER THAN PLASTICS WHEN FISHING DEEP.

Thanks for the replies, kind of what I expected. I like the hand tied jigs myself but I do have an assortment of BGshad baits . Interesting I didn't see mentioned the Bluegrass color and around here I seem to do better on it , at least in a semi clear water.
