Default Pic of my fish locator!

This is "Abbie". She is a one year old female Rat Terrier. She is sure funny to watch when she sees a turtle come up or we get to close to a stump or bouy! Boy does she get upset!

We tried trolling Bandits for a little while this morning but only caught a couple. We didn't have long to fish after that before I had to go in to get ready for work so we went back to what has been working for us...jiggin' brushpiles. We picked up quite a few real quick including this nice one that Debra caught!

Don't know how the fishin' is going to be the next few days...Looks like a full moon!

    Default brushpiles

They were in the open water brushpiles yesterday Bandit. I culled out a good limit and several were slabs. I estimated one over 2 lbs! I'm think'n about sinking brush today. I gave my fish away after fillet'n them as I've got too many now for just my family. I moved a brushpile that a local had taken over as his own ! Lazy a-- people won't help but share in the benefits of our work gets old. What day are you off to sink a few new piles ? I'll start catfishing this weekend. Already feed'n them and the worms should be mature on the catalpa trees then.:D

    Default Building Brushpiles

Hey Nimrod, We didn't do much good trolling Bandits. Jigged about an hour before we went in. Caught 3 or 4 nice ones but released them back into a brushpile. Didn't feel like cleaning them.

I've got to help Debra get a big yard sale ready for Fri. and Sat. morning plus my Sister and her family are coming up to swim and fish this weekend. So I'm tied up until the first part of next week.

I am only able to get with you to do it in the mornings but I am serious about helping build them. I have to leave the house by 1:00 to head to work.

I have 3 and 1/2 bags of Quik-Crete and I am going to pour up some buckets with hooks in them for us to use as weights. Also my friend at Krogers will have me some of the large icing buckets to pick up Friday.

I'll probably run into you this weekend and we will make plans to do it then.

Great . The plastic buckets worked good today . We just cut 3 sides of a square in lid and it opens enough to place rocks in. They won't fall out as it will close back up. We sunk two Persimmon tops in 12' water. I need to find something to tie them to the trees with .
While we were out placing tops and baiting catfish holes again today. My son and I fished a little @ 3.00 till 5.00 pm. It was hot , did I say it was hot!!!!!!! We could'nt buy a fish at first, then found the right spot and caught a dozen keepers. There were 5 real nice ones too. Good luck with the sale and your company . Usually when we have company the fish seem to slow down .

Hey Nimrod, what's the best for baiting catfish and how are you doing it? How often? What depth? How well does it work? Etc? Sounds like something I'd like to do here on my lake.

    Default baiting with sweet feed

Baiting holes for catfish is easy. We use sweet feed (grain and grain by products pellets with mollasses in them) some call it horse and mule feed. Pour it in the lakes on stumpy channel drops. We start by pouring in a 50 lb bag. Then add 25 to 50 lbs more every day we fish or atleast every second or third day if we don't fish. The longer the spot is baited the more they stack up. We caught 28 channels off one hole this afternoon.:D

What is a good suggestion for poles that ya'll use for trolling the bandit lures etc... brand, length, (light, med, heavy etc...) would be appreciated!
    Thanks!
