    Default Pony/Horsehead Painting

For those who make their own Pony and Horsehead jigs, do you dip or paint with a brush to avoid getting paint on the swivel. In addition, what do you use to put the eyes on. Seems it will be difficult because of the raised pupil.
    Thanks for your help, Pop

I use a Q-tip to paint mine, cheaper than a brush and you can roll it in the paint to form a small point on the end. Usually take the blade off while I'm painting.

I can tell you one thing for sure powder paint is NOT the answer. I thing spray painting them would be best. Have not tired it yet but have looked into it. The spray on Vinyl paint is a little costly. $12 for a 16 oz can + shipping cost.
Eyes.....I have found using a Lure Eye Dotter the best way.

I have thought about painting the jigs first with model paint type paint. Then use a clear spray on vinyl paint after painting the jig (over the eye paint also). The vinyl paint is highly chip resistant and would be a good sealer.
