one of my local state lakes half the time I will be the only one on it and the fish are in the same 200 yard area all winter I love it
I will only keep fish that are caught with the water temps in the low 50s or colder. And we will fish till the ice is to thick to drive thru.
And yes, we still have a skier or 2 and a few jet skies buzzing us with it that cold.
I fish 12 months a year, but have a big problem catching 'em in cold water. I fish the Alabama River and do ok in the hottest of weather; but, come winter it is not unusual for me to get skunked. Believe me, I'm pretty sure I've tried all methods and depths of water. I do agree that there are much fewer boats, sometimes none, and it is nice and quiet. I'll keep trying.

I fish from Sept. through June most years and like the winter and early spring best.

Nov and Dec my favorite time.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
