the great part of living in virginia is i have the rappahannock river, several reservoirs, and lakes. my boat is ready for all fishing in just a few moments. today is catfish.
Well thanks a lot for reviving this thread and wasting 2 days of my life!
It has been very neat to see the evolution of boats and rigging from 2011 till now. I think I was somewhere around page 114 before I saw the first Millenium item
Lots of neat boats and set ups. I was not familiar with War Eagle nor Sea Ark, but both are AMAZING. I just love all the center consoles that can be hosed out and left uncovered.
So my wife said I could not BUY a boat. So I traded a shed for a 14ft john. I stripped it down and built this.... It had one major, MAJOR FREAKING flaw. I made an critical error and never did figure out what, but no one could catch fish in it. Took up tubing with my girls and after a couple hours of that I was able to upgrade
Here's my new ride!
1998 Lowe LS1900. 19ft 1500 lbs hull with a 115 Johnson 40-45mph. This spring I went crazy on craigslist - 55Lb Terrova with sonar and iPilot. Elite 9 on the deck and 7 on the dash with network and puck. I made dripmaster spider rig rod holders but upgraded to a pair of Millenium with my corona money. Its been a crappie machine this year!
Baitwaster - You said it had a flaw? Before you casted, did you put bait on the hooks? Or did you "purposely/accidentally" leave the bait off????!? Too help in getting a different boat .
Drinkin coffee, missin fish.
I picked up this ol' girl in early April. I was all over boat trader, facebook and craigslist. I struck out with a couple a the local dealerships in Warsaw. Then bright and early Saturday morning, off to the right on Facebook, she pops up. I quickly send a message to which I get "I posted this for a friend of the family." A little on edge thinking it's a scam, I call the # and Jim answers. I tell Jim I'll be right out to look her over and off I went. I knew as soon as a I seen her sitting in the sun, she was going to be mine! I walked around, on top of and said "I'll take it!" I asked if he could wait until Monday so I can pull cash from the bank, he said sure and pulled the sign off. Later that day I decided to increase my ATM withdrawl limits and pulled out $3200 in $20 bills. I showed up the next day with a ziplock full of 20s and drove away with my boat. It's been a bunch of years (1997) since I owned a boat.
How she sat when I found her.
What the gel coat looked like and now looks like
She's currently in the shop. When I took her out a few times, I noticed a lack of hole shot power. It wouldn't come up on plain and max speed was about 37 mph. The owner called me and said the ol' engine had a blown head gasket, 1 fuel pump and not a dual phaser pump and one of my coils is bad. This is all prior to him adjusting my carbs and fixing the idle. Due to COVID-19 the mail system is broken, so he's waiting for parts. If you see me down at the ramp at Starrett come on over and introduce yourself. That DDRP sticker is a dead giveaway on my truck.
