Stowing/hauling your crappie jig poles

I'm starting to put together a set up of 4 rods on my boat. Never really did spider rigging before, but reading like crazy, and looking forward to it. I do not have a rod box in my boat, its just an open midsized alum johnboat. How do you experts move these rods pre-rigged with multiple hooks/jigs/whatever? I suspect most of you have something that works for you, to keep all the rods and hooks from tangling with each other, whether during transit in car/truck/storage/whatever. Do you break down your long rods for transit?

Do you have a rod wrap, or pre-rigged hookline that you remove? Other ideas ?
After I break down my 2 piece rods, I've been using pipe cleaners to tie the pair together, but multiple hooks are everywhere .

It's going to depend on your boat, what you want to do. There are many options, a guy on the MS board can custom build them for you, give him a PM. Name is EZPoleholder.

I can run 8 fully rigged rods down one side of my bass boat---I hate breaking them down but bread ties work for that too. We also make a transport rack, Cumberland Crappie Accessories A lot of guys use vertical rod holders for on the water transport, those probably take up the least amount of room in the boat. I just looked at EZpoles, those are very nice too.

Like majfly said, lots of options and depends on what you want to do. You'll figure out a system that works for ya after a little time. Tight lines.

For stowing the rods....I hook the hook in the reel seat.....reel up any slack in the line...grab and hold the main line about half way up the length of the rod...spin the rod...

This wraps the main line around the pole in both directions eminating from where you had grabbed the line...

I have enough deck space to lay my rods down without breaking them down. While I only have 12' rods, its not the length that gets everything tangled together and makes it a nightmare when going to another fishing spot. When I first started using longrods, I installed the heavy sinker on my mainline and it was the culprit that bounced around and tangled everything together. I now install a three way swivel on the end of my main line and use a 5' leader on the second swivel and my egg sinker is installed with a interlock snap on the third swivel. This way I can exchange different weights according to depth, speed and wind. When I do store them, I break them down and use velcro wraps found in the computer stores. I have seen multiple rod holders for storing the rods within the boat, but to me they take up alot of room and I'm already limited on space in a 16' aluminum boat with console. I would like to make a holder that mounts on the sides, and it's in the near future. Good fishing. Rollcaster........................................ ........

only problem storing on the floor they get stepped on by someone and it bruises them ,then they break.my boat is 17ft and the rodholder in my pic works great

Wont it unravel what keeps the line from untwisting
