    Hey Shine,
If you stand out front of the Keaton beach store and look north west, way over yonder on the horizon you'll see two houses = that used to be Jug Island, it all was abandoned and rotted down years ago, A rich doctor bought the place and built the houses, one for himself and one for the caretaker.
Last I seen of the place the two houses were abandonded too, they probably died, etc.......
Ain't been back in 30 years or so now, haven't a clue what it looks like nowdays.
Back when I was a kid all the beaches were owned by sole proprietors and all had cabins they rented/leased out. Nowday I guess they sell the lots, etc, etc.....
Was a great life living up there as a kid ........

Hi Bob, I actually joined this forum because I was looking for something more related to flounder gigging and I saw this post via google search. I'm a big crappie fishermen too, but I would say flounder gigging is up there at the top of my passionate hobby list. The best underwater flounder gigging lights are going to be fully submersible (to prevent glare, similar to crappie fishing), but they have to withstand the harsh saltwater environment. In my opinion the swamp eye submersible flounder gigging light is one of the best there is. Its crazy bright and can take a beating when you're running shallow.

I would say the top features you need to look for in a flounder gigging light are the ability to penetrate the water and increase your visibility, the ability to hold up to a harsh saltwater environment which corrodes everything, and the ability to take a beating when you run in the shallows and hit oyster reefs and other miscellaneous things in the flats while looking for flounder. Most flounder giggers like underwater lights over above water lights due to glare, but there are plenty that run above water to avoid hitting various objects underwater. There aren't many underwater lights out there that can truly hold up to abuse while gigging other than the swamp eyes. The setup trophy king posted is relatively common for gigging too, the only downside is you have to run a big generator to run those lights which can cause a bunch of noise. Some people don't like the noise, others don't really mind. That being said, I believe it is against the law to run underwater lights for fish gigging in the ozarks so I suppose trophy king doesn't have the option of running underwater lights. I could be wrong but I feel like I've heard this several times before.
