Xpress boats

I saw my 2nd one the other day and it was grey with a 200 merc and what an awsome boat. If some of the owners out there wouldnt mind sharing what they paid for theres, I am really interested in this boat

Met a guy at a gas station that had a 19 or 20 foot Aluminum bass boat, not sure of the maker. He was now towing a 20' fiberglass bass boat. I asked him why the change? He said that the AL boat was fast, stable enough at rest, but he was in his early 30's and that rough water and high speed and aluminum boats were a bad combo. He said that a couple of hard wakes left his back sore for a few days, not enough V or weight to take the sting out of em. I had a 16' stick steer and sold it for the same reason, poor ride in rough water. Just some input. Good luck with your decision.

My dad just got a 19'9 with a 150 yamaha 4 stoke on it with all the bells and whistles. I think is was in the mid 20's price wise. 25 or 26. Very nice boat and it is soooo wide.

My dad has an 02 Xpress X19 with a 200 Optimax on it, which is probably what you saw. He paid something like $9k for it last year, and it already has some nice electronics on it (Humminbird side imaging). It takes rough water pretty well, but we've always had Bullet boats, so our opinion of smooth ride may not be the same as others. We really like it though.

I have an 18HDSC duckboat with a 90hp optimax. It is the wider model about 8 foot wide across the back. Great boat. I gave $16500 in 06. I got it from King Marine down in Cape in MO. He was about the cheapest I could find.

We've had two Xpress boats and they were both good ones. The first was a 2001 X21DC with a 225 Yamaha - that was one fast boat - 72 mph top speed. We bought it in 2005 or 2006? paid 15,500. It was a super smooth ride, easily comparable if not better than glass boats we've had in the past. The down side was that a 21 foot boat, even an aluminum one, and that big motor cost big $$$ to transport and was just too big for some of the water we fish. We downsized to a 2000 17 ft Xpress with a 90 Yamaha, which was also a good boat, not quite as smooth as the bigger one, but still stable and definitely cheaper to haul and fill up. I think we paid 7000 for it.
When Xpress came out with the H18PFC, we were really excited to see it at the boat show, but the dealers couldn't get their hands on one - they showed us catalogs and said that they would probably retail around 19K. When we finally got to see one, it wasn't laid out as well as we thought it would be and the price tag was 25K.

Thanks for the input everybody, I have been researching prices and reviews on the boat, I really like them alot, before I buy something such as this I do alot of reading and looking before I would buy expensive things such as this.

Vonna, You've had enough of the newer AL boats to tell me how they are on windy days? I like an aluminum boat for lots of reasons, but one of the down sides to them is that being as light as they are, boat control becomes an issue in a good wind. Not trying to pick on anyone or disagree as my AL boats and these were as different as day and night. I've got a fiberglass bass boat that's comfortable for me and let's me fish on windy days that my previous boat would have had me going to the house. My last AL boat was 16' with little interior and high sides, just wondered how different they were. Thanx for your time in advance.
PS- that red boat looks HOT. Real nice.
