    Default Garmin 240

I Bought A Garmin 240 Depth Finder Two And A Half Years Ago And Two Weeks Ago It Went Out. I Call Garmin And Talk To A Gentleman About The Problem. He Told Me What It Would Cost To Have It Fixed, around 80 Bucks. By The Time We Got Through Talking The Man Told Me To Just Pay Fore Shipping And He Would Rebuild It Or Send Me A Brand New One. Seven Days Later I Had A Completely Rebuilt Unit. You Will Not Get A Better Deal Than That. I Would Recomend These People To Anyone.

I agree Craprodder. Garmin has the best customer service of any of them. And their products are great.

    Default Yep

Another AMEN here. These folks have always been super nice. I ain't never had any of my stuff broke, but I sure have hound dogged them with questions. Some questions I asked couldn't be answered by the tec's, so their engineers have called me to give me the poop.....Now dat's PR.

Sounds like they got better pr than Eagle -
My first GPS, I kept sendin it back, they'd say fixed and send it to me,
it'd work a day or a week then crap out again - I finally told 'em I was
gonna start "advertising" for them, real loud, at all the boat ramps if
they didn't get their stuff together:D They finally sent me a new
Lowrance to shut me up, and it has worked fine, knock on wood.

Seems to me that they better have good P R, as so many of their products are breaking down so quickly. No locator should breakdown in 2 or 3 seasons. Are you leaving them on the boat dashboard, hooked up, while trailering to the water? Vibrations might be doing the damage.

They replaced my 240 twice when I first got it. It wasn't Garmin's problem causing it, it was mine. Too much voltage from the motor. I imagine that may be a common problem since most out boards, especially the older ones are not regulated.
