    Default Humminbird SmartCast Wireless Fishfinder

I might want a new fishfinder this spring.
I've never had much luck with things.
    Are theses wireless finders good?
    Any advantages to wired?
    Thanks
    FIN

wireless is a good search tool . you wouldn`t want to use it all the time . the little transducewr onnley l;ast 20 hours and has top be replaced . i have one when i git set up i use it to pinpoint a spot . pitch it under a dock and see how far the fish is under it . i have one on my trolling motor and one in the rear for running the gass motor .

    Default 3 yrs

I have had one for 3 yrs. and have used it alot. Fishing from shore and from my boat. I have been very pleased with its function and have compared it to my main finder on the boat to verify its accuracy. I have used only 1 transducer also in this time. I believe they say they are good for up to 400 hrs. I always wipe the contacts off when I've finished using it and store it in a dry place. I have also used it (since the transducer for the mounted unit is at the back of the boat) tied to my front cleat as I troll and it has worked without problems. All in all its a very useful tool..........my 2 cents
