    Default Bass Boat Owners

Would some of you be so kind to post pics of your setup? I am to take ownership of a bass boat this weekend and would like to gather ideas on how some of you are setting up your boat. I've seen some people with the rod holders set up on the side, but I think I would rather go off the front of the boat as directly as I could.

Would like the rod holders I get to be able to swing a little for letting the trolling motor up & down. I have been playing phone tag with Scott from Hi Tek so that is the holders I am leaning towards, but haven't been able to talk with him directly.

Was also thinking of the Add A Seat option opposed to drilling more base plates in the front deck.

Any other ideas or do's & don'ts are certainly welcome.

I've seen (prolly here) a rod holder that slips around a pedistal seat base.... flat bar off the bottom of the ring (welded) ans a T-Bar rod holder mount welded to the far end of the flat bar....

This allows one to use a 4 rod holder (or more if desired) that pivots to where you are fishing ... straight ahead, left front, Right front, Left rear, Right rear, left, right (rotate as you need it.

Go with the hiteks....I tried several of the others. I have four of the hitek 4 rod holder systems on my boat now. Two on the front and two on the back....I love them.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I just spoke with Scott from Hi Tek and forgot to ask him. Can the rod holders be swung in such a way to let the trolling motor up & down?

I found this to be a good start for me. I didn't directly center due to my trolling motor. Will get add a seat next.

Yes they can. I do it with mine all the time. What i do is the bolt that holds the t bar to the post....don't tighten it tight, just snug it that way you can swing the t bar and raise and lower the trolling motor. Then just swing the t bar back into fishing position. Look at the pictures on the hitek website and it shows a bass boat with a four rod t bar mounted on eack side on the front of the boat. www.hitekstuff.com

Thanks for the pic Bear. Is that the only rod holder you have mounted right now? I think Im going to go ahead and order (2) 4 rod holders.

Here is a shot of my front deck. Might have to relocate the depth finder. Dang foot controller is also screwed down, which wont be good when fishing two people from the front. Might have to unmount that also.
