I like bnm poles and they have excellent CS, which has been said already. I don't remember which poles I handled, I think it was an outlaw. Seemed a little heavy to me and I can't remember what length it was. I have been thinking about trying a Sam's too.

I run the 12ft poles and they are great. I fished with Richard and he knows his stuff and has designed a great crappie rod. He is also a great Person!

I have owned a few and still do. Not the west point though. I presently use 2. One is 11', the other is 10'. I use the 11 for jigging and nothing else. I dearly love the rods. I would recommend spending a litlle more though. I pay $39 for mine. Never had a break, and I fish 3 times a week(crappie only) and have for 8 years.

dont get me wrong...outlaws are heavy but what other rod loads up tho the whole rod and not just the tip? i have seen JR demo outlaw rods and he will pull the tip down to the handle...i asked wally to do it with his and he wouldnt...i dont think the Reps from B&M would do it with theirs....im not trying to push outlaws on anyone but they are what i have faith in...i have used alot of rods and have some prototypes right now from another rod company that im testing and i havent found a rod yet that will stand up to what a outlaw will...thats just my .02

Great person indeed. If Weezer can't put you on the fish nobody can. I hope to fish with him again this spring.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

B&m Poles Are A Great Value, If You Don't Abuse Their Poles They Will Last A Long Time, As Mentioned Jack Wells With B&m Is A Really Customer's Friend.

I have some Wally Marshall rods and a BnM and a Bill Dance. Don't buy the Bill Dance, it is pure junk. I think Bill let this one slip by him. I would not want my name on anything as bad as these poles.

BnM Pro Staff Trolling Rods are great. Good backbone at the base and sensitive tips.

Is this a decent rod for jigging a jig or occasionally tight lining a minnow on Crappie around brush in 3-14 ft of water?
Spend the additional money and buy the BGJP or the Sam Heaton for jigging. I have some of the Westpoint's in the 8 foot version and have used them for 7 years now longlining jigs and catfishing in the summer and have never had one break. I've only had one BnM pole break that wasnt my fault. It was probably the result of a bad place in the rod. To all you guys who hate your BnM rods, if you have any 14 footers you want to get rid of send me a pm.

B&M have been re-designing rods for a while now, and for good reason you guy's are telling them what you want and their listening. At those price points for long rods their a good value as stated in other posts you have to take care to prevent breakage. Most rods that have true ratings will handle these, only when exceeded do they fail. We really have it better now that all the new materials came into rod production...but some at a high cost. "High-sticking" long rods causes alot of failures followed by grabbing the tip sections to land fish. In the heat of battle is when it happens.
