Weezer, how did you route your cable? Looks like it wouldn't be too much problem using ty wraps and leave enough slack to slide it on the mount.

I used plastic wire ties and just ran it up the shaft and down the wire harness to the foot peddle. Only takes a few minutes.
It works a lot better with the transducer that came with the depth finder.

Thanks, I will definitely be doing that. I talked to support at Lowrance and they said the more you turn up tour sensitivity, the wider the beam. Up to 60 deg. This is on a X125. I'm anxious to try it but it will be a while till I get over this surgery I'm having Monday. The biggest thing that I can think of is going to be how much you can crank up sensitivity depending on water conditions.

    Thumbs up

    PanMan,
Sorry, I did misinterpret what you meant! We were both right. See what happens when standards are not adhered to? This is a perfect example of a situation where a manufacturer can mix things up by doing that. It is not the fault of the engineers, it is the deception of the marketing people who have gall and just enough knowledge to get everyone into trouble.
For you normal Crappiefisherpeople who can't get involved with this technical crap, don't get involved with narrow angle transducers. They are for deeper water fishing. The 20 degree angle used by Lowrance/Eagle is just fine for you. Small deviations from that are fine. You probably have some experience with some sonar unit. Use that as your basis for comparison. Use PanMan's links to learn more.

No problem. We are saying the same thing. I should have elaborated more to avoid confusion.

I always hated Decibels. A decibel is just a northern Bell!
