We fished a new lake today and had 4 keepers (+10"). I was tough. We couldn't buy a bite on jigs. All were on minnows. We could mark the fish, but we couldn't put them in the boat.

Went yesterday to pre-fish our first (open) tourney for our FUTURE club. Didn't catch a crappie all day! Did catch about 15 yearling bass. Had our tourney today and even though only 6 of us showed up, we still had fun. I caught 20, throwed 1 back, gave 9 dinks away, and came in third place with 9lb 4oz for ten fish. First had 13lbs 0.6oz and he had big fish with 1lb 9.3oz. Second had 11lb (not sure about oz). Weather change and none of us are experts made for small amounts. Man that won, fishes that river everyday (retired and lives right there) and has tops out in several places. Good people, Good fun, and Good fish for supper!!

spider rig-man- I fished 3 1/2 hours this a.m.,man it was chilly!!had a pretty good chop on the water too! I managed to catch 25 but only had 7 keepers-all came off wood in 10 -20 ft of water.I used a 1/16 oz jig with a cream/chart/pink squirt.

    Hey Spider Rig Man:

Had a great morning and a terrible afternoon - but that's fishing! Everyone caught something and said they had a good time and would be back.

I hit all the regular hotspots. I fished some new brush as well. I spent 4 hours hunting them. I caught 2 11" crappie all day. I only had 5 bites, and also caught 1 drum, 1 mississippi white, 1 white bass. I checked some standing timber that has been good to me. I had a friend that fished the shallow timber and he got nothing. I spent 2 months this summer learning this lake, and found the spots I fish. Almost every spot is in the 18' depth. I am begining to think that every time I go out, I need to place at least one new brushpile.
