Default Yum Beavertail jig body durability?

Was thinking of picking up some Yum Beavertail jig bodies in 3". The thin inner body makes it look like it might be hard to thread the hook down through and that it would tear out easy. Anybody using them and have any input on these aspects?

The bodies are kinda like the old ringworms, and getting them on the jigs yeah is a pain but they seemed to last but never tried the yums before.

I use them a lot, one side is flat with the center strip running out to that edge, I turn that side toward the keeper barb on the jig and they seem to hold up better. A drop of super glue doesn't hurt either. Hope this makes sense.

The only problem I have with them is when I use the 1.5" with a 1/4 oz. jig w/ barb. That big of a barb will come out of the body and, eventually, cause it to tear almost all the way around. Not too many problems with that on anything other than the 1/4 oz. w/barb. Good baits, my favorite body for vert. jiggin.

They hold up about as good as soft plastic out there, the salt/Yum scent makes them hold it longer. If you want your average size to go up stay with the 2.5" bait, harder thumps= bigger crappie!
