Well, sometimes your plans just don't work out...Our plans were to stop off there for a few days on our way to see my Brother in Clinton, Mo....Now, due to circumstances we have to make our trip to Mo. sooner than we planned, so we will miss it this year...We will miss the fellowship and all the delicious food...

I am going to have to pass. Took boat out for the first time in months. Had fully serviced and wanted to be sure it was all good. Caught a few redfish, only one keeper. On the way in there were a few places we had to go no wake. At the first one when I tried to accelerate, the trim was stuck up. Will not lower. Had to limp in for an hour. Checked the obvious after getting home. That was all good. Must be the trim motor. So will be using funds for that. Sorry, sure will miss you all. Jerry I'll call you later this week. "D"

Any idea about when everything starts? What is the procedure for getting a place to sleep and where to put your boat? I may try to come up on Friday. Do I need to make a reservation with the park?

The best place to stay is in the big camp lodge with some of the guys, but there is a reasonable hotel near the launch on HWY 33. They have about 50 beds in the lodge. That is where all the events take place. Usually gumbo/pot luck friday and fish fry saturday. Bring a dish or desert. Prizes awarded saturday night. Brother Warren is shy but slip in a donation to him if you can. He pays for everything. No one leaves boats in the water, They are parked in front of the lodge at night. Hope this helps. Wish I would be there but can't.
