Default What Color for What Type/Color Water?

I realize there are so many choices for jig color. It seems many people have different favorites. What are your favorite colors for clear, stained(algae), and muddy water? And maybe all purpose favorite.
    Thanks!!

Mine, so far, are electric chicken for muddy
Red/chartreuse with gold flakes for stained,
Pearl with silver flakes for clear
also black and chartreuse gets honorable mention.

    Thanks!!

After buying every bait/color under the sun when I first started, I now use only two colors and it's 99% of the time a hair jig-orange/chartreuse and black/chartreuse. The black if it's really muddy and orange/chartreuse the rest of the time. I'm in SW La so no such thing as clear water anywhere. I suppose if I'd ever fish clear water, I'd go with something white or more natural.

Thanks!! I haven’t found a hair jig that works for me yet. I tie flies for fly fishing, so I have the equipment. I will try those colors!

This is what has worked in the past but everyone one of us has our on go-to color.
Muddy to stained: BG Cajun Cricket
Stained to off color: Red (sparkle) chartreuse
Dark greenish to semi clear: BG Double silver rainbow
Clearer than that: Monkey milk, Blue Ice and Blue (sparkle) pearl
Also have every other color if none of the above work haha

I am trying to avoid buying and trying every color. It may be inevitable. I just went to TP Outdoors in Monroe and they had lots of jigs that I haven’t seen yet. Also some very large crappie jig bodies. Someone thinks there are big crappie around Monroe! So I added to my collection.
