    Default Hand Tying Wannabe

Some of y'all on here are real experts when I comes to hand tying crappie jigs and if course You Tube makes it look simple but I know good and well it's not. To get started about how much money are we talking about? A good vise and tools? I'm not trying to make them to sell them, just personal use. Thanks in advance for the info.

You could get started for less than $100. Many options out there and even some starter kits with everything needed.

Look up Mustache Jigs and Flies on YouTube. He has a bunch of tutorials on jig tying.

Not a good first jig, but an example of what can be done. So far I haven’t tied any that outfished tubes. Still trying!

Also his “killer rubber leg jig” should be a good one to start on.

I got most of my tools off of ebay a lot cheaper than local stores. Some supplies from fabric and sporting good stores. Coats & Clark 100% Polyester and upholstery nylon thread from walmart is what I use, cheaper that tying centers and just as good if not better. Trashed furniture like wood bed frames make great work and tool storage stations.
