Default Return to No Name Lake

Went back to the lake yesterday. Overcast and 7 kt wind. Much easier fishing than last two trips. Female crappie still staging in 9-12 fow. Caught a few larger fish that looked like catfish hugging the bottom, but were a round hump rather than the catfish hump tapering off to one side. Most fish caught on chartreuse Roadrunner with red chartreuse body. Also chartreuse and silver sparkle nibble seemed to be required.
The front came through around noon with increased wind and clear skies. I moved around looking for a protected place to fish, but couldn’t catch any anywhere else. Went back to the original area and the bite got better after a couple hours.
Ended up with 11. Threw back a few and broke off a big one trying to swing it. Fun trip! Puppy stayed home to guard the house. Oh yeah. Water temperature 69 degrees.
