    Default Struck out at Henderson

Piles and piles of gizzard shad...millions of them...on sonar between 5-10 feet deep.

Fished for 3.5 hours, not a single nibble.

Was thinking about hitting whiskey bay tomorrow. Only one problem: I know zero about whiskey bay...where to launch, etc

Any info would be awesome. I'm failing miserably at trying to learn how to catch sacalait.

Coming from Baton Rouge, take the Whiskey Bay exit....then take a left South on Hwy 975....then left between the two Interstate bridges which will have you going East...then just about 200 yards to the landing...fish the concrete Interstate pilings...about 1 1/2 miles from the launch you will pass Bayou Des Glaise.....fish around there...about 4 miles from the launch you will come to Barge canal (Work canal)..fish around the entrance and down the canal.....Henderson is plenty tough right now for most folk...don't give up on it....

I have no problems finding the shad...they're everywhere, including big gizzard shad.

    Clouds of em on sonar.

It's hard to differentiate the shad from crappie on sonar though.

Thanks for the spot advice...I'll keep trying. Eventually I'll figure it out lol

I’ve punched a few and as long as the wood is present more likely fish to be there too. And the depth of water is an issue as well.

No, but should have gone today. Was perfect weather except for the threat of strong showers that didn't happen. I think I missed a very good day.

I kinda thought that it was but at my age you don't make many assumptions...so the answer to your question is that I have not seen any lilies...
