Default Bayou Lacombe 1/22/2023. WET AND COLD ONE

Around lunch time Sunday my grandson and I got the urge to kill a few fish and the weather was not cooperating . Soooo we went any way. 54 F air temp, 56 F water temp, Bayou Lacombe way above normal level due to heavy rain, but chance of rain (while we were fishing) NEVER. Well it was raining when we launched but we were not in Death Valley. The elusive Sacalit have moved off the structure in the main bayou and up into the shallower side subdivision canals. Could not find them grouped up and suspect LOVE IS IN THE WATER. Caught 9 keepers threw back about that many smaller ones. Grandson caught his PBE a thick 11" Blackie. We returned to the dock as the sun set wet and cold but WE DID GO and were GLAD we did.
Another Paw Paw Adventure in the books.

    Good report!!
I fished with my dad in Saline, Larto, and Louie, among other places. Every time I go to those places I remember the times we had!!
