You did well for a day that sounded like tough fishing
Went to Louie again today. Late start, I was supposed to help a man do some work around my house. He didn’t show, so I went fishing.
Got to Louie around 10:30 am. Put in at the Rocks. Water is up from what it was, but still about two feet low. Fished some deep tree tops. Saw some fish on Livescope but they seemed to be afraid of my shiner. Tried a usually dependable stump, nothing! Went upstream looking for clearer water. Tried a treetop in 8 fow and caught 2 decent crappie. Tried some more similar treetops and nothing. Headed back towards the landing and tried some more tops near where I first fished. Caught one more and called it a day. I am happy that I could catch a few on a day that seemed like it was going to be a zero.
Launching was much easier with the water level up some. Still lots of baitfish swimming around. Harder to see with the wind.

Yes, I thought I was getting a handle on, and was starting to fish with just jigs. Then record low water, too low to launch at Louie. Had to try new places. Now muddy water. When it settles down I’ll try jigs some more.
What are good jig styles and colors for muddy water?
Concordia is fairly clear, but crappie are rare.
Thanks!
I did find a very informative series on Wired for Crappie, on YouTube, if you’re learning like me, it might be worthwhile!
Muddy to stained water around Concordia parish, I've always had good luck with Cajun Cricket in a Garland slab slayer. As Concordia lake goes it does have some nice fish in it. Usually end of January through February you can find some real good fish mid lake around the cypress trees. At least I did earlier this year. Usually catch 12 to 15 each trip. PM me if you want to go one day. I live in Vidalia
