I have caught them over a pound. Probably a 12 inch long fillet

I cooked a couple of brown mullets that we caught a few weeks ago in MS. They were pretty good!

Vet we'll let you off with a warning and not worry about your alcohol level.
    Don't let it happen again.

When I was growing up many of my relatives trawled for shrimp and some times the would hit the black mullets by the tub full. Fish were hard to get for us so a #3 tub of mullets was a great gift and lasted us a long time. The bad part was cleaning all the fish. Sometimes we would get flounder too by the tub full. Those were the days.

I’m 57 yo and when I was a small lad we’d road trip from Hattiesburg 60 miles to MS Gulf Coast and overnight catch a cooler full of them and white trout. Channel (LA) and Ground (MS) mullet are very tasty but considered trash fish by many. Wish I could catch some when I do go saltwater fishing. LOL.

Now where are the sacalait biting.
